Ballon au Poing is a popular team sport in Picardy ( France ) not to be confused with fistball . This sport involves two teams of six players. It is a game of winning ground , which was included in the list of the Inventory of French Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2012
As its name suggests, the player does not use a racket to hit the ball, but uses his fist. It is a game of winning ground played on a field, called a ballodrome , 65 meters long and only 12 wide.
In a team, there are six players named in Picard : ch' Foncier, ch' two Basses-volées, ch' Mitan d'corde and ch' two Cordiers.
The grand final is traditionally played on August 15 at the Amiens ballodrome located in La Hotoie . The final of the Coupe de France is also held in La Hotoie in September.
