The Montagne de Frise is an exceptional site for its wild atmosphere, its rich flora and fauna, and its views of the ponds of the Upper Somme.
It is also a place of history and memory, whose rugged terrain, marked by shell holes and trench networks, bears the scars of the Battle of the Somme, a major event in the First World War.
The municipality of Frise, owner of the site, and the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Picardie (Picardy Natural Areas Conservatory) have joined forces to implement a preservation and enhancement project, supported by numerous partners.
