The House of Sagittarius

This house, dating from the 16th century , was once a business belonging to Jean Bultel, a draper from Corbie who had it built in 1593 1 . Located on rue des Vergeaux near the current post office, it was destroyed during the German bombing of 19 May 1940, at the start of the Second World War. Its façade had been fireproofed during the interwar period, which protected it from the fire following the bombing. The façade is protected as a Historic Monument (classified by decree of 21 December 1941) 2 .

After 1945, the façade was dismantled stone by stone and reassembled in front of a new building right next to the Logis du Roi with which it now communicates.
