Located in the ditches of the Citadel, at the end of the "Passage des Martyrs", is the post of the executed.
The shooting range created in the 1930s was the place of execution of at least 35 resistance fighters sentenced to death between November 1940 and August 1944.
The bodies of the tortured were for the most part brought up and buried in the Citadel. At the liberation, a mass grave was discovered there, twenty-four remains were identified.
This emotionally charged site was, from 1944, a place of commemoration that was then appropriated by the associations of former resistance fighters and deportees.
