Saint-Valery-sur-Somme

Saint-Valery-sur-Somme is one of the three ports in the Bay of Somme, along with Le Crotoy and Le Hourdel (commune of Cayeux-sur-Mer).

A member of the network of the most beautiful detours in France, its strategic location on a limestone promontory facing the Bay of Somme has given Saint-Valery-sur-Somme a rich and eventful history. William the Conqueror and Joan of Arc passed through the medieval town.

Take the time to explore the medieval town, the remains of the ramparts, the William Towers, the narrow cobbled streets lined with flowers, the Saint-Martin church and its votive offerings, or simply stroll along the quays bordering the Bay of Somme. Walk down to the sailors' quarter "Le Courtgain" and discover the charming, colorful fishermen's houses.
