The Safra'Numériques

Created in 2016 by Le Safran, a nationally recognized performance venue located in the heart of Amiens' northern district, Safra’Numériques has become the largest digital art festival in the Hauts-de-France region and one of the most important in France.

Over five days, more than 11,000 people come to discover the 35 to 40 installations and performances by regional, French, and international artists presented across Le Safran's 4,500 square meters, in public spaces, and at numerous partner venues.

In addition to being a sensory experience, Safra’Numériques highlights contemporary art forms that explore possibilities with participatory, poetic, magical, unsettling, and socially engaged works. For its 10th anniversary, Safra’Numériques will be low-tech and will focus on sustainability… The Earth is rumbling beneath our feet. Can you feel it moving? Instead of plundering our resources to the point of exhaustion, couldn't we shift our perspective: value antique objects; embrace secondhand goods; learn to build with our own hands; and care for what we create?

This is also the idea behind our visual identity, a blend of botanical elements and digital codes, and our communication materials, some of which are screen-printed by us at Safran on recycled materials (cardboard, kraft paper, etc.).

Safra’Numériques is also a unique and powerful mediation event. Inherently part of Safran's DNA, mediation is essential for understanding these artistic and poetic worlds. No fewer than 70 mediators—including many art students—are present and trained to guide all residents and school and extracurricular groups (associations, leisure and community centers, children, adults, people with disabilities, etc.) and thus facilitate the discovery and accessibility of these creations in a digital environment.
